Kathryn Rudge and James Baillieu present An Ordinary Diva. Mahler: 'Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen' ('Songs of a Wayfarer'). Lancashire-born contralto, Kathleen Ferrier, left an indelible impression upon music, even though her life was cut short, when she died in 1953 of breast cancer. To mark the centenary of her birth, this concert pays tribute to a singer whose connections with Manchester and the North-west still remain strong.
