I went to see Whitney on Wednesday night and i mean it when i say i had the best night and so did everyone i went with. I was nervous as to what to expect with all the poor reviews (but its whitney and they only seem to like writing bad stuff about her) i still wanted to go and had waited since April, and my theory was everyone who was there must have wanted to see her aswell, they'd had 2 months to exchange their tickets otherwise. she did not disappoint in anyway at all!! Her voice was not as strong as last time i saw her, but she still has the wow factor and knows how to get a crowd going and hanging onto her every word. I have been to see leona lewis and Alicia keys in the past month, and the atmoshphere at whitney was by far the best. As for anyone walking out, i certainly didnt see that, so that one person out of however many thousand that saw these people walking out, yet no one else on here did, strange that? Whitney gave her all that night, and for the majority of the crowd they loved it and showed her love and support back. I would go and see whitney again and still pay the same amount of money. And people requesting refund, makes me laugh, how can anyone request a refund, she did the full concert and everyone was up, she didnt miss any songs out, what you got was whitney houston in concert, exactly what you bought the ticket for. Good job you'd not flown to south africa to watch the match last night as that would be another refund you be searching for!!<br />

My friend and I went along to see Whitney perform and peform she did. We were also lucky enough to have our tickets upgraded (due to it not being sold out). She no longer has "the voice" she once had but the songs she sang, apart from I will always love you, were sang in tune and I danced and sang along with a genuine feeling of being entertained. I personally did not see anybody leave early but if people did then maybe they were expecting to see and hear the Whitney from the 80's/90's which, let's face it, is unrealistic. The crowd were all behind her and there was a great atmosphere. I think with it not being sold out also gave it an air of a more personal performance. I think the people and the media who have been so quick to write her off only seem to dwell on the negative. Yes there were negatives to her performance but there were a hell of a lot more positives.<br />

Oh dear ... what a disappointment. I'm afraid to say that Whitney failed dismally to live up to my expectations, particularly when you consider the expensive price of tckets.<br /> <br /> Whitney did indeed look unwell and her once wonderful, soulful voice has largely deserted her now for most of the performance. Too much time was spent gasping for breath and waffling on insincerely about how good it was to be back and saying thank you, thank you, thank you. We wanted to hear her sing, not rabbit. When she disappeared from stage to allow backing singers to take the lead and then treat us to videos on the big screen, the writing was on the wall. To reduce my favourite song, Saving All My Love For You, to a brief cameo was unforgiveable.<br /> <br /> I have seen Whitney before at the MEN Arena and she was much better than that. Although, we did stay until the end (and why wouldn't we?), many people around us left early muttering their discontent.<br /> <br /> I'm sorry to conclude that Whitney is now a has bin, a once great singer who really must now retire from live performance. A great shame but I for one will not be going to see her again.<br />

OMG i seriously had an amazing time on the 16/6/10!<br /> <br /> i went to see whitney with open views on what to expect knowing that she had inevitably changed in the past 25 years. I was not dissapointed at all.<br /> <br /> My Hat goes off to her, to come back fighting after all the unnessassery bad press she had recived both her and the other side of the atlantic in the past few months. The bad press really angered me. what do people know about the real Whitney? at the end of the day she only human! and the people who slagged her off i doubt very much they are award winning singers<br /> <br /> I really admire and respect Whitney and have in all my 16years of being born she show us that she has never lost her powerfull voice, yes it has change a little as shes grown older but honestly who hasnt changed in their lives? can you really say that your voice looks and habbits are all the same from when you were born? didnt think so!<br /> <br /> rant over, on with the show<br /> <br /> The M.E.N wasnt filled to the max that night but i didnt need to be!her opening was amazing i knew then and there she wanst going any where she was on top form! i enjoyed the show so much it was truly amazing i have been lucky enough to see som amazing singers in my life such as Cher and Celine Dion, but when it comes down to the hold on the audience whitney had them eating out of her hand! her emotional renditions of i look to you and i will always love you had me weeping i was moved by her fantastic performance!it touched me to see how much she really appricated her fans being with her and supporting her that night she is one of the most humble and lovely stars ive come across. there was so much energy produced not only by Ms Houston herself but all the band and dancers, it truly was a show to remember.<br /> <br /> I would not hesitate to buy ticktets for her show again!<br /> <br /> FANTASITC! :) xxx<br />

I went to the Whitney concert last night at the MEN and I must admit I found it sometimes a little odd waiting for her and the length of the breaks in between he songs when she was talking etc. But then I reminded myself that this woman is a singer and all about the voice and the music. Her voice, in the past and now, speaks volumes and speaks for itself. I have previously been to see Justin Timberlake, Girls Aloud and others at the MEN and as good and successful as they are, they are performers that NEED the extras like the glitz and glam, the lights, the special effects, over the top costumes, and the eye popping staging that surround them from the minute they walk on the stage. But what we are all seem to be forgeting is that Whitney Houston doesn't need that to disguise or blind the audience from the quality of singing and song because she had, and still has the Voice. As a singer myself, Whitney songs are advanced and the range, belt and power in her voice now is still unique. In her 20's, yes I agree she had a amazing outstanding voice and that over the years she has strained and pushed over the edge and also maybe her voice could have been looked after the way a singer should but also a singing voice changes and evolves as one gets older and with different amounts of practice,rehearsal and vocal exercise. Yet with all that and with what she has been through she still belted out her songs and I believe hit the notes with brilliance, quality and amazing power. She doesnt mime, she doesnt double track her songs and sing over them she sings live, she doesn't need a gimmick, she is who she is and bares all. No-one should of gone to that concert expecting a 20 year old Whitney and a 20 year old voice to walk on the stage as most obviously she isn't 20 shes nearer to 50 now. Whitney is still every bit inspiring to me now as she was years ago when I was young and I played the VHS, I still have, of How Will I Know whilst I danced around in ore of this wonderful voice. I am still in ore of her voice, and to me she is still every bit the Diva. <br />

I do not know if I was viewing a different concert however, the Whitney Houston I saw still inspired the audience. Every member of the audience showed their appreciation, whether it be by shouting, dancing or even bowing to her. The woman's voice may well have changed over time but the notes were hit and she entertained. The trouble in contemporary society is that people are far more willing to find a negative than give praise. I enjoyed the ballads she performed, particularly " I Will Always Love You" ( the performance's quality could be judged in the audience's positive response) however, enjoyment was evident in the fast paced songs. I do not recall any member of the audience leaving early and her varied speeches worked to introduce her songs whilst also providing comedy. Anybody who expected Whitney Houston to have a voice like she did in the 80's would be deluding themselves, she should be appreciated for what she is now and for the huge impact she has had on the music industry. One thing wil never change, Whitney never fails to entertain and has an ability to please the crowd.<br />

I have been a Whitney Houston fan for over 25 years and was totally disappointed at the performance last night at the MEN. Whitney looked awful, she could barely sing and spent all night gasping for breath and wandering about the stage saying thank you thank you, wiping the sweat from her eywes and face with her back to the audiance and pretty much not a lot else. I felt very sorry for her and the audience, very many who left early. Unfortunately we weren't warned or advised of her being in this state by Ticketmaster or Marshall Arts and feel we sould have and to that extent it is my intention to use all in my power to obtain a full refund. The warm up acts were poor as was the sound / mixing.<br />
