What's On
Green Day
Veteran American punk rock trio Green Day formed in 1987 and were instrumental in bringing pop-punk to the mainstream with their seminal 1994 record 'Dookie'. Songs of teenage angst and apathy struck a chord with not only the punk scene, but also the mainstream, and singles such as 'Basket Case' became classics after receiving extensive MTV coverage. Despite a brief spell of unpopularity in the late 90s, Green Day returned in 2004 with 'American Idiot', an album which reached out to a new generation of music fans and cemented the band as superstars of mainstream rock.
