Dinosaur spectacular for MEN Arena
Dinosaurs to walk the ArenaTHE MEN Arena has played host to a few dinosaurs, of the rock persuasion, now some even scarier specimens are taking to the stage there.
Walking With Dinosaurs - The Arena Spectacular visits from July 29 to August 2 next year.
The groundbreaking show, which originated in Australia and cost £10m to create, is based on the award-winning BBC Television series and recreates real size dinosaurs with spectacular special effects.
Terrifying
Tim Haines, creator and producer of the original Emmy and BAFTA award-winning BBC series, serves as project consultant .
Ten species, including the terrifying Tyrannosaurus Rex, are represented from the entire 200 million year reign of the dinosaurs.
The largest of them, the Brachiosaurus is 36 feet tall, and 56 feet from nose to tail. It took a team of 50 including engineers, fabricators, skin makers, artists and painters, and animatronics experts a year to build the original production in a Melbourne Docklands workshop.
