ROBBERT OWEN BROWN is no longer the chief at the angel,the beer is over priced<br />

having been told good things about the angel by a friend I wanted to try it,but now wish I hadn't bothered.This was possibly the worst dinning out experience I have ever had.The staff gave a wonderful impression of not knowing what they were doing,the service was poor and the food was the most disappointing aspect of this whole experience.I could go into great detail about the failings,but better to just put it behind me,and find somewhere else more equipped to serve decent food- The Angel certainly does not fall into that category. On top of all this-MASSIVELY OVER PRICED BEER!<br />

After hearing so much about the much heralded chef I decided to try his wares today, unfortunately today I missed the service time for lunch and was ready to wait for the 5pm service. So I settled down with an over priced beer to wait. But the fact that they had children in the main bar playing music on their phones, illeagal non?, and a dog that judging by its ribs and dry rough nose is obviously not well, made me want to leave add to this after a recent refit it is looking shabby, I polished off my drink and headed back to the northern quarter.<br /> <br /> What a shame.<br />

I had not seen Robert since he left the Bridge. I walked in with a actress friend of mine named Kaite Boltaine. Eyes were every where.<br /> <br /> The chefs saw me and they predicted what I was going to eat. Tom will have the Blackpudding Potato Cake, then the Roast Sirloin of Beef foloowed by Eccles Cakes with Lancashire Cheese. What can I say the food was wonderful. Kaite had a huge bowl of Leek and Potato Soup. followed by freshly poached salmon and a chocolate Mousse to die for. A great lunch and it was nice to see Jack the Lad again. Well worth a visit. The staff were absolutly wonderful pampering to your every need. My Gastro Pub of quality leading into 2009. <br />
