Dont be put off by the owners curly hair and sandals, this place is great!!

This great pub is next door to the Co-op Museum in the conservation area of Rochdale so it looks the part. Wine bar meets real ale bar feel with wood panelling and floors, has old metal adverts all over the walls along with hundreds of pump clips from past guest ales. It’s one large horseshoe shaped room really, but with several distinct areas including a conservatory. Large walled garden with 2 boules pistes and lots of bench seating out the back.<br /> <br /> Has 6 handpumps selling ever changing guests which always include one from Phoenix and a real cider. Large range of bottled beers from around the world and a good selection of wines. Also does food throughout the day, both tapas and larger meals.<br /> <br /> GBG regular and won the Rochdale, Oldham & Bury CAMRA Pub of the Year award for 2009. What can I say, it’s the best pub in Rochdale, come along and try it.<br />

On a recent outing in ROCHDALE I stumbled across this lovely pub/eatery tucked away up a small cobbled street just outside the town centre from the outside it looks like two old Victorian curiosity shops but on entering I discovered a cracking well thought out little pub with a fine selection of lagers ,beers and real ales not just on hand pull but also bottled the staff were smart and very efficient and on studying the food menu the Baum seems to cater for everyone’s tastes from tapas & Mediterranean dishes through to the more traditional dishes of roast dinners ,also worth a mention was quite interesting specials board, on this occasion I chose the broccoli & stilton soup and a pint of crompton ale<br /> <br /> To my surprise at the back of the Baum out through a conservatory was a lovely beer garden with two full-sized boules pitches<br /> <br /> On returning inside the pub, it seems the Baum has received a number of awards quite recently and is also listed in the good beer guide<br /> <br /> All in all a superb pub with a great quality mix of good food ,great beer and a superb atmosphere well done the Baum<br />
