What a wonderful welcome on a snowy midweek day in Manchester, great smiles from friendly staff, a nice pint and a roaring log fire to warm me up (after my train journey) before venturing into the City Centre for lunch. It was so good, I had to pop in on my return journey for more of the same!!

What kind of person would look at someone and reach the conclusion that they are impoverished and have criminal tendencies. Personally I would never judge a book by the cover, I do not possess a Prime mark suit but may go out and buy one this weekend, why, because I can. I consider myself a regular at the Deansgate and have met many interesting people from around the globe that stay in the Hilton next door. The staff are great, the beer is well looked after, and good food too.
just NEEDED to write this because i completly dissagree with the last 'muppets' comments.....i have been drinking in the deansgate for a few years now and this guy must have been so drunk he must have been in another pub!!!!!.......

1.....the staff......michelle and all the bar staff are amazing....they are friendly, welcoming, polite and they love to talk to the customer.....the service is out of this world.......we have had a few business functions in there at very short notice....and it has never been a problem.....always ALWAYS a friendly service.....

2.....the pub.....is always clean, the toilets are immaculate....the staff never seem to stop attending the bar and the fridges and pumps are always topped up...i dont think i have ever had to wait for a drink...(down to the staff again)

3....the customers...are all everyday people.....they have alot of custom from the hilton and the local buisness's....on match days they have a busy pub and there is never any trouble in there.....alot of the time they have a fresh roast on.....which brings me to the food....

4....the food......myself and friends and work mates have all eaten in there and the food is amazing.....it is very well prepared well cooked and well served....i dont think i have ever eaten a complete meal.....always enough.....

5....in general.....the pub is always a great meeting place....in the summer the outdoor drinking area (upstairs) is excellent.....a lovely sun trap....they have b-b-q's up there and there is also a bar upstairs....in the winter they have a roaring fire downstairs in the main pub which is really cosy.....i would recommend this pub to anyone......great food, great beer, great sevice......lovely staff.......

thankyou....to the deansgate.......
Hello,
I've been looking in at the pubs in the running for Pub of the Year and some surprises have turned up for sure. No more than this one. The last time I was in it was a very pricey, bland kind of pub enlivened only by a huge group of loud and boorish people in Primark suits celebrating some pleasing bit of news from the local magistrates.
More fun as Galvins overall and certainly not pub of the year material to my mind. And as for the reviews, well it's interesting to see the previous poster noting that all the reviews are single ones making me believe they are perhaps a little made up. In fact, check out this fascinating guide to spotting a fake review if you don't believe me...
Amusing to read so many 'glowing' reviews from so many individuals who have simply made only one review for pubs in the whole of Manchester. Not suprising this has made it to the top of the voting with all the posters in their 'sister' bars. It appears lobbying is not just left to crooked MPs!

I've been into this pub about 5 times now. Each time I've been in I've been made to feel very welcome by the bar staff and manager, who are all ace. I've taken friends in there on a couple of occasions and they think it's cool as well.

The roof terrace is a marvellous place to chill out on those rare sunny days and the log fire makes it a cosy place to unwind during the winter.

Truly a pub for all seasons and the banter with the bar staff and regulars has always been convivial and makes evenings pass by very enjoyably.

Added to the fact that the beer is always superbly maintained, this is a true gem of a pub to spend some time in.
i just want to say, what a very friendly and lively pub! The bar staff are fab, love going in there! Food is gr8! Another thing i can say is that its always clean and fresh!

The first time I went into The Deansgate was to meet some work mates for a planned night out. We ended up staying in the deansgate for the majority of the night - crackin pub with a good choice of beer.

Whenever I venture into town now I make sure The Deansgate is my first port of call. Always good for a bite to eat & cheeky stop off before getting the train back home.
Great pub for meeting everyone on a night out, great pub for enjoying a quite drink with Old friends & a great pub for pre & post match drinks on match days.

Highly recommended for a decent pint
Great quality pub away from the business of Deansgate Locks. Our company regularly uses their function room for our do's and has become a local haunt when we finish work. Best time is in the summer on the terrace!!! Food is amazing and not a bad price either. Would recommend it to anyone.

This is a lovely pub, with a decent capacity and a variety of seating areas to seat all tastes. It can get a bit packed at popular times, which is a testament to it's quality. In winter it's a very cosy venue, and in summer there is an excellent beer terrace hidden away at the back, whi…

In winter it's a very cosy venue, and in summer there is an excellent beer terrace hidden away at the back, which is shielded from the wind to a certain extent, which is handy given our summer climate.
Since it's relaunch it's been a great addition to the quieter end of Deansgate. Really nicely laid out and with it's classic interior it'll never get dated.
