Having visited the Woodthorpe Hotel on numerous occasions, I became accustomed to what I thought to be excellent pub food, indeed, this remained the case until I stumbled upon the newly refurbished Friendship Inn, formerly the Woodthorpe's poor relation.<br /> <br /> They have both undergone an impressive facelift as of late, comprising of a lovely balance between the modern and the comforting.<br /> <br /> However, the food at the Friendship Inn, is far superior both in quality and presentation. The service at the aptly named Friendship is also of a higher standard.<br /> <br /> Both pubs have impressive beer gardens in which to enjoy the milder evenings and warm afternoons.<br /> <br /> I shall still visit the Woodthorpe on occasion, however, until the food and service match the refurbishment, I will also think of it as the Friendship's poor relation.<br />

The Woodthorpe in Prestwich is a huge pub with comfortable seating and layout with plenty of room.<br /> <br /> You can eat in the bar, or in the dining room. Food is very good and well presented, not too costly either.<br /> <br /> This is one of the nicest pubs in the Joseph Holts group and they've made a lovely job of it. Plenty of outside seating in a patio area under large umbrellas and big comfortable seats!<br />
