As far as I'm concerned, this is the best real ale pub in Manchester city centre. Usually has 8 different ales on at any time, including smaller, local breweries. Back room can get a bit cramped but has nice green leather benches and is comfortable enough. Well worth a visit.

Solid and reassuring. Plenty of ale, but nothing I can remember of note to eat or things on. Pleased to see it surviving next door to a wetherspoons despite being a lot pricier, which must be the equivalent of having a nest of fieldmice living happily next door to a catflap...

This is one of Manchester's best pubs,what a great traditional pub filled with friendly vibrant people chatting the evening away....a very impressive selection of real ales and bar staff very informative.. A must for a great night in Manchester..

A wonderful old fashioned boozer. It's like stepping back in time. There are rumours that they are going to use The City Arms to film a new Sherlock Holmes film.

The beer is superb. Friendly staff which reflect onto the customers, you will always get a chat
