The Nelson is a brilliant place for the community to meet it's like a country pub in Gorton,Manchester. My friend Linda & I hold a Social Group every other Wednesday there, Lynn, Les & all the staff make sure all the members have a brilliant time.Thet set all the tables in a certain way and keep the area just for our use. The regulars at the pub always make us very welcome & support us. Our members are over 55yrs old disabled & able -bodied we have bingo,a raffles& music subsidised. Lynn the Landlady even bought a bingo machine for us to use as we were unable to buy our own, we celebrated a year of the group at the Nelson on 1st April we had a fab buffet at a resonable price. We are getting more members we will need more space soon!!. So if you are looking for a friendly, warm welcome & home cooked food this is the pub.<br /> <br /> Lynne.
