IT'S been a long time coming, but Booths has finally decided to restore Lancashire's pride by giving it a sausage of its very own.

The fresh meat buyer for Booths, Nigel Cokell, explained: "Booths has been serving the people of Lancashire for more than 160 years, so we wanted to do our bit to celebrate Lancashire Day".

Booths also felt it was time for Lancashire to have a sausage to rival the successful Cumberland and Lincolnshire sausages.

Lancashire sausages have been created using a variety of spices and two special ingredients: black pudding and beer.

The ale is Tackler's Tipple, brewed by Three B's of Blackburn and the black pudding is RS Ireland's award winning version made in the Rossendale area.

At £2 for 400g they are sure to be a real bargain.

You will have to be quick to get your hands on a packet though, as they will only be available between November 19 and 29.
