Fairfax
At The Fairfax you'll find lovely big leather sofa's to relax on with a drink prior to having a meal. After work especially, the food is excellent value for money - the last time I called in the offer was 2 meals for £6 with decent sized portions.
You can buy 2 large glasses of wine and get the rest of the bottle free. There is ample parking in front of the pub with very easy access to the Metrolink at Prestwich.

This is a dodgy bar. The doormen are all trouble makers who, instead of diffusing trouble, seem to stir it up and are very violent. I have been there twice (two months ago) and both times i have witnessed trouble. Both times the bouncers were involved. The owner doesn't seem to care that his doormen are like this either.
Avoid this place if you don't want to witness trouble or violence. It is not pleasent. Rumour has it that it's not opening after New Year anyway. Good riddance.

The Fairfax pub is a fairly recent addition to the pubs in Prestwich, and is rapidly gaining a loyal fanbase due to its modern, if a little predictable, decor and good food.
The menu is fairly standard in what it entails, however, as somebody who likes pub food, I could have chosen any one of five starters, ten mains and six derserts, if only my stomach would allow this.
The food was nearly as good as the choice, indeed, the burger was as good as any pub burger I have tasted, and there have been a few.
They often have good deals, as Jean mentioned in her review.
The Fairfax is indeed, better than just fair, it is very good!
