The Arden Arms

1 / 1 imagesThe Arden Arms

STOCKPORT is widely regarded as having one of the best choices of pubs in the country – especially ones that serve cask beer.

This is justly celebrated in the fourth edition of the Stockport Pub Guide, Viaducts And Vaults, produced by Stockport and South Manchester CAMRA.

Editors Mark McConachie and John Sutcliffe have listed every pub in the borough, with greater detail on the ones with real ale, including the town centre’s Arden Arms, which was named Pub of the Year in the CityLife Manchester Food And Drink Festival Awards.

Pubs are split into geographic sections in the 112-page, full colour guide and there are also articles on local microbreweries, how to visit real ale pubs by rail, details of historic pubs and a potted history of beer production in the town.

It is available from bookshops, some pubs, and by post by sending a cheque for £4.95, payable to CAMRA Stockport Pub Guide to Dave Sharpe, 1 Chiltern Drive, Woodsmoor, Stockport SK2 7BE.
