Didsbury Beer Festival
Coniston Black Bull breweryARE you local? Do you like Lakes ales? Then head for the first Didsbury Beer Festival on November 21 and 22 and enjoy a selection of beers from our region and the Lake District.
Among the local breweries taking part at St Catherine's Social Club, in School Lane, are Dunham Massey, 3Rivers, Boggart Hole Clough, Holt's, Hornbeam, Howard Town, Millstone, Bazens', Barngates, Robinsons, Pictish and Storm Brewing.
From Cumbria, savour some ales from Coniston, Hawkshead, Dent (Dent's Ramsbottom beer I hope, mmm), Cumbrian Legendary Ales, and Watermill.
Fifty beers are promised and several ciders will also on sale.
To soak up the booze there's Lancashire hotpot (will they put chops on top like my granny does?), meat and potato pie, quorn and ratatouille lasagne.
Entertainment includes a swing band and an Irish pipe band.

November 21: 6 to 11pm (Admission £4)
November 22: noon till 5pm (Admission £2)
and 6 to 11pm (Admission £3)
Any profits will be donated to Francis House Children's Hospice in East Didsbury and Friends of Ghyll Head in Windermere, a charity that supports disadvantaged youngsters to access Manchester Outdoor Education Centre in The Lakes
