Bar Fringe

Great choice of beers, but it feels like you have walked into some-ones private party with the rude service and the stares from the staff's friends at the end of the bar. I would rather drink across at the Crown and Kettle, where you have a friendlier welcome, better prices and a better pint.

Christmas Markets open for business

Went for the first night, which according to the council website, the market was open till 10pm. So we arrived at 8 only to find last orders was 8.45! And the security staff (not door staff on a licensed venue???) were ordering us to drink up as soon as last orders arrived.

The Angel

After hearing so much about the much heralded chef I decided to try his wares today, unfortunately today I missed the service time for lunch and was ready to wait for the 5pm service. So I settled down with an over priced beer to wait. But the fact that they had children in the main bar playing music on their phones, illeagal non?, and a dog that judging by its ribs and dry rough nose is obviously not well, made me want to leave add to this after a recent refit it is looking shabby, I polished off my drink and headed back to the northern quarter. What a shame.

In the venue links why no link to the Crown and Kettle? It is probably the best pub in that list!
