And on the 1,825,000th day God created landfill Indie and filled the charts full of a load of jangly tripe. Thank goodness bands like this are around to make the world a more interesting place for the gig going public. Miss them at your peril! more

Trip-tronic with Beats for Beginners, Delicate Hammers & The Thinman Project

Trip-Tronic is always a treat thanks to the fact that they put a bit of thought into their lineups rather than any of the 'pay-to-play' crooks that populate many of the city's venues. Entry is FREE too which is the kind of price you need on a cold weeknight... more

So what do you want from your night out? Cheap drinks? Awesome pop music? A giant Satan with flashing eyes? Maybe you didn't answer yes to all of the above but I sure did. I went to the matinee on Saturday and it was absolutely fantastic with the exception of the Pharaoh who had a really odd squeeky voice! Not a big problem as the rest of it was so good, but the Pharaoh is the best character and surely anyone can do a comedy elvis impression? Even I can do a better one than that. more

Can somebody confirm that my favourite baby oiled sax player Tim Cappello is part of this show? His work on Tina's Mad Max 3 tune 'We don't need another hero' has never been beaten, it is the zenith of 20th century music more
