Happy to be Miserable again

That is absolutely fantastic news - i'm dead excited would like to point out that (to my knowledge) the last time Les Mis was in Manchester was late 2000/ early 2001 - and has never had a "year long residency" anywhere (aside of the West End and Broadway) Either way, i've got everything crossed that this rumour proves to be true.

@ Samantha Not sure where you saw the 11.30 finish time. The standard curfew for pretty much any major concert in Manchester (regardless of venue) is 11.00 so there's no way RZ would have been able to play after that (i've seen bands try and it get landed with a hefty fine) Have to correct you on something - he did do an encore, in fact he did 2 though it might not have seemed like it. Like you, I was expecting the "Thank you Manchester - Goodnight!" with the band going off the stage and then coming back on a few minutes later which is kinda what happened. The band did go off stage and come back on a few minutes later - twice - but they didn't do the fake "we're going now" they just finished playing a song then went off stage. If you think about it, there was a period when the stage was dark before they came back on to do Dragula. Have to say though, Skindred were superb. 2nd time i've seen them and they just keep getting better. I kinda agree they would have been the better band to see headline ini as much as they really got the crowd energised and bouncing, having said that, RZ isn't that kind of band so i don't suppose you can compare them. Overall a really good gig, very impressive stage show (but still not a patch on Rammstien)

Firstly I would like to say thank you to the M.E.N Arena Customer Service team for responding to the messages here - not often you see something like that happening so well done. However, whilst I accept your point that artistic control of sound system is completely retained by external companies, I do feel that the M.E.N Arena do have a duty to ensure that the fans have the best experience possbile - which, by allowing rubbish sound quality, you are not doing. The fact that the sound quality was below par on Monday night, was reported on this site (and no doubt to Arena customer services) and was not improved the following night is not acceptable - some of this blame lies with the Arena not speaking to the band/ sound crew regarding the poor feedback. The sound quality is always hit and miss (it wasn't brilliant for Metallica either....) Allowing this to continue will only end up impacting peoples opinion of the arena as a quality venue and many will simply vote with their feet by chosing to watch the bands and another venue on their tour - Don't forget, a lot of bands are now playing both the M.E.N arena AND the Echo arena...... Other than that, The Killers played an amazing show Sam's Town and Mr Brightside being highlights and the sound problem would not put me off seeing them again (though maybe not at the m.e.n)
