Odd - a touch of the kasbah
Morroccan OddWHILE we await Cleo Farman's plans for Oddest, her revamp of Polar Bar in Chorlton, it's nice to see she has not neglected the original Odd in Thomas Street.
This Northern Quarter stalwart has had a much-needed facelift (cue Bay Horse across the road to get some grooming, too!).
Check out the now kitschly flowered toilets, which are just the prelude to the spectacular Morroccan-style downstairs.
Music's looking good, too, particularly Pooka on Sundays. Under the anorak eye of Sean Vinylment, it plays host to the country’s most obsessive obscure and rare vinyl excavators.
Previous guests have included: Joel Martin aka DJ Zeus (Quiet Village, Music De Wolfe), Cherrystones (B-Music), Benjamin Hatton (Invisible Spies/Kid Acne's Dj/Producer), Lovely John (Jigoku) and Si G (Vinyl Exchange).
