Dirty Tourism brighten up clubbing scene
FOR any of you who spent the summer months clubbing in Ibiza or dancing until dawn in one of Europe’s edgier cities, cold and wet October must be particularly depressing.
But don’t fret: your partying days aren’t over yet, because Dirty Tourism are all about recreating the buzz of those major holiday dance events in our very own hometown.
A basement rave in the truest sense of the word, the team behind Dirty Tourism has been hugely inspired by the stuff they’ve seen on the white isle. They’re committed to bringing the best DJs from all over the world to Manchester to create intimate club nights that will take you right back to your dancing days in sunnier climes.
Having enjoyed a successful run at Joshua Brooks, Dirty Tourism are now moving to Scubar, and, in honour of this auspicious event, there will be an extra special relocation party this Friday.
Whalebow
The night will be headlined by James Barnsley, the mastermind behind the infamous Whalebow after parties, and resident DJs Dirty Tourists, Analog Mob and Midnite Radio will also be taking to the decks.
Dirty Tourism will be running once a month from now on; expect guest DJs from top club spots, plus sets from other residents Anthony Newman, Tom Knox and Nickelle. Check the MySpace page for all the latest additions to the line up.
Clubbers are encouraged to come as they are and prepare themselves for a night of underground, cutting edge dance tunes. As the flyer says, “Dig out your techno pumps and get involved”!
Dirty Tourism is at Scubar, York Street on Friday, October 17 and every third Friday of the month after that, from 10pm until 3am. Entry costs £6 (£5 NUS). For more information, visit www.myspace.com/dirtytourism
