Manchester235 casino is not just about gambling. It’s an entertainment venue with a variety of offers under one roof, making it a substantial place to spend your whole evening.
The casino vibe is relaxed, with a broad mix of people. The main gaming area flows into the Fusion bar and bistro, and steps lead up to Linen, a more a la carte dining experience, with a multi-functional private bar.
The bright lights of the casino are continued into the Fusion bar where a lit-up, eight-metre glass bar (and backbar) beckons drinkers.
Upholstered lounge chairs surround the bar, but we sat at one of the more food-friendly tables in the bistro section and sampled the bar’s new Exp235rience Package, which includes two cocktails, a two course meal and a free £10 bet on black or red roulette, all for £25. Considering we won £10 on roulette, this turned out to be a fantastic deal.
The food is posh pub grub and the drinks menu varied in both products and price. Single house spirits Courvoisier, VS vodka, Famous Grouse, gin and Heaven Hill rum are £2.50, while premium equivalents Stolichnaya Elite and No. 209 are £5.50, and Appleton 12yr is £3.95.
Champagnes range from Mercier NV up to Dom Perignon Rosé, while beers include Kronenbourg 1664 and John Smith’s on draught, and bottles of Peroni, Cusquena and Kasteel Cru.
Next to the Hilton, The Great Northern, 2 Watson Street, Manchester, M3 4LP (manchester235.com).
