Jesus is a City Fan

BEING a United fan there was a degree of trepidation attending a play claiming the son of God supported City.

It was a slow start setting up the story, but once the play got going it was enjoyable and entertaining.

The worldwide press were trying to find the child born after being cloned from one of three DNA samples of the Turin Shroud stolen during a 1978 inspection.  This turned out to be 27 -year-old Manchester City-supporting, Luke.

He was unwantedly thrust into the media spotlight along with his friends, nearly all of whom tried cashing in on him and making the most of his celebrity to promote their previously unheard of band.

Three dimensional aspect

There was an innovative use of mixed media with pre-recorded film pieces and audio effects being used so the audience became part of the play, doubling up as a football and concert crowd.

City, of course, beat United 4-1.  This, along with the placement of members of the cast within the audience added a three-dimensional aspect to the piece.

Luke’s mum saved the day, as mum’s often do, but there was one question left unanswered at the end, “Was Jesus a city fan?”
