Oasis - The Importance Of Being Idle (Big Brother)
COULD it be that Oasis are finally, belatedly returning to form? The kind of form that made Morning Glory so revered - but simultaneously placed the Gallaghers on a pedestal from which they regularly fall onto the gossip pages of tabloids.
While Lyla was a reasonable, if a little straight-laced, The Importance Of Being Idle is something entirely and refreshingly different.
In many ways resembling The Kinks, it plays to Noel's capable vocals and a very un-Oasis guitar solo.
Oasis haven't sounded this good in years.
Released August 22, 2005.
