The latest runner in the Boy Band Solo Career Stakes has good form.

Though it is not always a pre-requisite in this business, Ryan can actually sing, nimbly soaring through a set of grown-up, sophisticated pop songs.

Army Of Lovers is by now a pain in the bottom, but few songs survive the kind of exposure it has had without wilting.

There are several other songs here likely to justify the same kind of heavy rotation, the best of them being Real Love and Miss My Everything, which have some classy soul hallmarks about them, and Wish The World Knew, a proper anthem.

The boy done good.
