Madonna - Jump (Maverick)

NOSTALGIA is a tool that Madonna has long drawn on, be it in the music she references or in utilising the public's long-term love affair with the toothy Queen of Pop.

While Jump is easily the strongest single to be lifted from Madge's Confessions LP - and the one that makes the best use of Mrs Ritchie's restricted vocal range - there's little here that wouldn't have raised the roof in a 1980s nightclub or sat well on Chris Lowe's mixing desk during a Pet Shop Boys recording session.

Still, Stuart "Les Rythmes Digitales'' Price's solid backbeats are sure to make Jump bounce to the top of the charts.
