McFly - Please, Please/Don't Stop Me Now (Island)

SLAP the word charity on your single and it's almost a byword for naff. Frankly, McFly's latest offering in support of Sport Relief is no exception to this rule, and even they seem to know it, hedging their bets with a double A-side. The first - Please, Please - sounds for all the world like the theme tune to some sort of teen drama, and the second - a cover of Queen's Don't Stop Me Now - goes a significant way to proving what a talented vocalist Freddy Mercury was. They're both fast and furious and packed with Bryan Adams-style screaming and lots of vocal posturing, and I suppose if you were searching for a song that makes you want to run, both of these are good candidates.
