Manda Rin - DNA (This Is Fake DIY Records)
'DNA' is the first single from the debut album of Manda Rin, formerly the singer with nineties indie band Bis.
Rin's breathless vocals are backed by modern electronic influences that make for relentless energy and extremely catchy hooks.
Where Bis sported lo-fi production and cluttered, shouty vocals, 'DNA' demonstrates a much more mature sound and cleaner, slicker production.
'DNA' does get very repetitive, but the sense of sheer energy this adds to the song outshines this criticism.
The synth hooks and disco pop edge make promising prospects for the album and 'DNA' will doubtless have many people heading for the dancefloor.
