ADVERTS may maketh an artist a name, but typically they don't exactly send the street cred barometer racing into the red.
Mark Brown's dance-opera crossover (recently featured on the animated LloydsTSB advert) stands a chance of outlasting its commercial life because it's a solid pop record given a real edge by the addition of St Etienne's Sarah Cracknell.
The tingly, operatic section - performed by a singer from Manchester - will ring most bells with TV viewers, but it doesn't need this high profile connection to make it a hit. In fact, it could prove to be its undoing.
