Life begins at 50 for Activ8

ACTIV8 at Bolton's Octagon Theatre has teamed up with Age Concern Bolton, Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council and the Asian Elders Initiative to deliver art-beat, a new programme of arts activities especially for members of the Bolton community aged 50 or over.

Taking place on a fortnightly basis from next Tuesday, participants will be able to take part in singing, drama and creative writing workshops at the Octagon throughout April and May.

Suitable for all abilities and led by professional artists, the workshops will enable those taking part to learn new skills and develop existing ones, as well as make new friends.

There's a possibility, too, of some of the participants being trained to become workshop leaders themselves. Participants can choose between creative writing and singing workshops between 10am and 12pm, with drama workshops taking place from 1pm to 3pm.

Free art-beat workshops take place at the Bolton Octagon on Tuesdays April 4 and 18, then May 2, 16 and 30.
