Lowry return for The Play What I Wrote
GOOD news for celeb-watchers, as I hear hit stage show The Play What I Wrote is on its way back to Salford's Lowry theatre. And speculation is already heating up about which stars are set to make guest appearances in the hilarious play when it opens on Monday, October 4.
Originally directed by Kenneth Branagh, The Play What I Wrote is a tribute to classic comedy duo Morecambe and Wise and was a sell-out hit in London's West End.
However, the biggest draw has proved to be the surprise guest slots from big name guests such as Kylie, Ewan McGregor and Sting.
The identities of each star are kept secret until they appear on stage. However, recent celebrities to have taken part in the last few months include Denise Van Outen, Roger Moore - both pictured above - and Patsy Palmer.
Last time the play was staged at The Lowry, Honor Blackman, William Roache, John Thomson and Nigel Havers all popped in.
So it wouldn't do any harm to keep an autograph book handy...
The Play What I Wrote will be at the Lowry from Monday, October 4 to Saturday, October 9. Tickets are é12.50 - to book, call 0870 060 1768 or visit the website below.
* You can also read an interview with Eric Morecambe's son, Gary, a consultant on the show, here.
