Courteeners' real soap-erstars

HOTLY-TIPPED Manchester band The Courteeners faced their toughest interview yet - at the manicured talons of Hollyoaks' feisty McQueen sisters.

The Middleton indie band were among a host of music stars appearing in the first-ever Hollyoaks Music Show, which was broadcast on Bank Holiday Monday.

And after performing their upcoming single, Not Nineteen Forever, on the Top Of The Pops-style show, frontman Liam Fray and drummer Michael Campbell settled down on to a couch on the soap's Chester set for a grilling with McQueen minxes Mercedes, Carmel and Jacqui.

Nice to see that the rockers took it all in good humour though - even if the girls did seem to disarm their trademark swagger a little with their questions.

Best moment was when Mercedes, (aka gorgeous actress Jennifer Metcalfe) seductively asked Liam what was the most romantic thing he'd ever done for a girl, to which he quipped: "Texted her back".

Rock 'n' roll!
