The Beast gets his skates on

NOT to be confused with the opulent and award-winning musical version of the Disney film coming to the Manchester Palace next month, the Manchester Evening News Arena plays host next week to a "Disney On Ice" version of the animated tale.

Featuring 41 skater/dancers drawn from many different countries including the UK, Russia, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, South Africa and the United States, the production features the original voices and songs from the animated film.

Joining Belle and the Beast as well as such favourites from the film as the egotistical Gaston, the hot-blooded candelabra Lumiere, Cogsworth, the uptight mantel-clock, and Mrs. Potts, the chirpy tea-pot, are those long-time stars in the Disney firmament Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck!

Disney On Ice presents Beauty And The Beast is at the Manchester Evening News Arena from Wednesday, October 2 (which is a preview evening in aid of Manchester Children's Hospital) until Sunday, October 6. Performances are at 7.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday; 8pm on Friday; and 12 noon and 3.45pm on Saturday and Sunday.
