WHILE the news of a new Oasis album may not fill most music fans with overcoming joy, due to the diminishing returns, which have hit the subsequent releases since their criticically and commercially acclaimed Britpop heyday - the marked improvement of their last offering, Don't Believe The Truth, has perked a greatest interest this time around.

Dig Your Own Soul hits the shops on October 6 and is said to be their most uncommerical and experimental to date - the first indication of what to expect can be heard on comeback single, The Shock of the Lightning, which hits the shops on September 29.
