THE summer what-to-do decision has always been a pretty simple one amongst the punk community; with the Vans Warped Tour season mainstay always hosting a delectable line-up, but during the colder months when the nights grow longer is a different concern. Welcome Rockstar Taste of Chaos!

With its roots stretching back to 1994, when curator Kevin Lyman set up the Warped Tour as an answer to the travelling tour Lollapalooza's lack of punk and ska in its bills (although has grown since to include metal, emo, hardcore, and more mainstream-conscious hard-rock bands), it's gone on to become America's longest running annual tour.

Its more metal and hardcore focused offspring Taste of Chaos (sometimes known as the winter Warped Tour) has in recent years played host to such gravel throated talents as Deftones, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars, Funeral For A Friend and The Used.

Headliners this year are Orange County bruisers Atreyu who will be taking last year's Lead Sails Paper Anchor through its paces.

Story Of The Year, As I Lay Dying and MUCC will provided the undoubtedly frenetic warm-up.
