The School Disco comes to Manchester

Unless you've been hibernating in your local pub for the last couple of years, news of London's infamous School Disco will have reached you by now.

If not it soon will, because the strict over-21s, uniform-only night arrives at Manchester's Academy on Thursday December 20 - for one night only.

You can be sure that there will be gym-slips and tight shorts. And bank on hearing Walk Like An Egyptian, Tiffany and (yes) Primal Scream.

Playing 70s, 80s and 90s you will either love to hate it or just love it, but this is one phenomenon not to be missed.

Rumours that latecomers will be met with the cane could not be confirmed at press time.

Academy's weekly Club Tropicana will resume the following week.
