Apollo to welcome The Music to the north

THERE is good news for fans of The Music left dispirited by the band's decision not to stop off in the city on their last UK tour, as the group have scheduled a show for this week.

The Leeds quartet will play the Manchester Apollo on December 22 to promote their new LP further.

Entitled Welcome to the North, the follow-up to their self-titled debut has been well-recieved by the critics and debuted at number eight in the UK charts.

It has already spawned the monster hit, Freedom Fighters, which proved a real favourite on the radio playlists, while Breakin' will follow in the New Year.

It has been a busy end to 2004 for Robert Harvey and the gang, as after their last batch of UK dates the group headed out to the US to try and build on the success they achieved from their album launch dates there earlier in the year.

Their show in Manchester is one of three big dates the group have lined-up to end the year on a bang as they will also play the London Forum (Dec 21) and Glasgow Barrowlands (Dec 23), before the Christmas holidays.
