Whoa! Nelly's back

SHE may be British-Columbian by birth but Nelly Furtado was taken to America's collective bosom when her debut album took the US charts by storm in 2001.

Whoa, Nelly! spent an incredible two years on the Billboard charts, and didn't do too bad this side of the pond either.

The track I'm Like A Bird, which was taken from the LP, proved to be the ubiqitious single of the summer of 2001.

The impish singer returned at the end of 2003 with the follow-up album, Folklore. To date this has already spawned the hits, Powerless and Try.

Next up is Forca, released in July, Furtado will be hoping she has another British summer standard up her sleeve.
