Eighties stars to shine again

DIG out those puffball skirts and luminous socks é The Here And Now Tour is returning to Manchester for the sixth time this Christmas with another collection of eighties pop stars.

And there are some new additions on the nostalgia package tour, which calls in at the Manchester Evening News Arena on Wednesday, December 15, as well as some of Here And Nowés seasoned veterans.

Nik Kershaw will be performing hits like I Wonét Let The Sun Go Down On Me for the first time since his heyday, while Midge Ure is set to sing Ultravoxés big singles for the first time since the band split.

Meanwhile, Belinda Carlisle will be putting her stint in ITV1és Hellés Kitchen behind her and returning to the stage to perform hits like Heaven Is A Place On Earth and Circle In The Sand. And Cheryl Baker will be returning to music after an even longer stint on TV to reunite with the other original members of Bucks Fizz - Mike Nolan, Bobby Gee and Shelley Preston.

The band, who won Eurovision in 1981 with Making Your Mind Up and landed the Christmas number one spot later the same year with The Land Of Make Believe, will be performing together for the first time since 1989.

Living In A Box, who enjoyed chart success with Living In A Box and Blow The House Down, have also been persuaded to reform especially for the tour and will be appearing together for the first time in 17 years.

Also on the bill are Kim Wilde, who has become a firm favourite of previous Here And Now tours, and Wigan-born Limahl, who will be returning to the region again after performing at the eighties party at Capesthorne Hall in Macclesfield last weekend.
