Sting forced to cancel show

STING has been forced to postpone his performance at the Manchester Evening News on Saturday, May 8 due to laryngitis.

The rock star was earlier quoted as saying he was "praying I get my voice back" in time for the UK leg of his tour, which was due to begin in his hometown of Newcastle on Friday, May 7.

But the former Police frontman has not recovered in time and an MEN Arena spokeswoman confirmed that the concert would not take place.

Fans are advised to retain their tickets and await further announcements of any rescheduled dates.
