TV pop rejects Liberty X have blamed record label pressures for cancelling their spring tour which included a Manchester Evening News Arena show.

The scheduled tour, which was to visit the Arena on Saturday, February 21, has been postponed until later in the year.

Liberty X, who were formed from wannabes turned down for the first series of ITV1's Popstars, said the cancellation was due to unforeseen requirements of the band's record label.

"Michelle, Kelli, Tony, Jess and Kevin, as well as their record label V2, are all extremely sorry to disappoint fans," a spokesman for the band said.

As there are no firm plans to reschedule the Manchester date, ticket holders are advised to return their tickets to the original point of purchase for a refund.

"We recommend that tickets purchased at the Box Office are returned by registered post to ensure safe delivery," an Arena spokeswoman said.
