Another Meat Loaf gig in doubt
MEAT Loaf may have to call off another gig at the Manchester Evening News Arena after undergoing heart surgery.
The giant star postponed his gig on November 13 due to flu, but collapsed on stage during his subsequent show at Wembley Arena.
He then went through a week of tests, during which it was discovered he suffers from Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which means he was born with an extra pathway carrying electrical signals through the heart.
This means that his gig on Sunday, November 30 is in doubt, although the singer himself remains upbeat.
In a statement on his website, he said: "Many, many people are born with this condition and can live their whole lives without ever knowing it is there.
"The cardiologist performed an angiogram on Friday and they were successful in removing the extra pathway.
"The prognosis is excellent as the procedure's success rate is over 95 per cent."
Meat Loaf will find out on Thursday whether he will be able to continue his Couldn't Have Said it Better tour at the MEN Arena on Sunday.
He is due to return to the venue on Wednesday, December 17 and Sunday, December 21.
