The Stones roll in on ruby tour

GOLDEN oldies the Rolling Stones today confirmed they will play the Manchester Evening News Arena later this year.

Mick Jagger and his friends will roll into the city for the first time in 13 years on September 5. It is the latest date in the Stones' Forty Licks tour, which celebrates 40 years in the business.

The Stones have already toured the Far East and America and kick off their European leg in Munich in June.

The Stones first played in Manchester in 1964 and last appeared at Maine Road in July 1990.

Tickets go on sale on Friday May 2 and look set to sell out within minutes.

Earlier this month former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney played two sell-out gigs at the Arena.

The Rolling Stones play the M.E.N Arena on September 5. Call the ticket hotline on 0870 190 8000.
