Arena ticket sell-out record for McCartney

ROCK legend Sir Paul McCartney has not only sold out the Manchester Evening News Arena TWICE - but he also did it in record time.

The former Beatle is playing gigs on April 9 and 10 and they are set to be the biggest events the Arena has ever hosted.

Sharon McKoy-Beckett, director of sales and marketing at the M.E.N. Arena, said: "We were sure that Sir Paul McCartney's show would be a sell-out but the speed at which this happened was amazing.

"We put the second date on sale to satisfy demand and tickets for this performance have now also sold out. I think part of the appeal has been the promise of so many Beatles' songs and I'm sure McCartney will put on a great show."

McCartney last played in Manchester in 1979 with Wings at the Apollo.

Sir Paul McCartney plays the M.E.N Arena on Wednesday, April 9.
