Chocolate cheese a winner!

WHILE Cheshire Cheese, predictably, remained one of the top sellers at this year's show, it was the rather unusual flavours from cheesemaker David Williams turning heads.

David, boss of family delicatessen Godfrey C Williams and Son in Sandbach, saw his chocolate and ginger creation scoop a gold award at the show - as did his Bowland cheese, made with cinnamon, apple and raisin. The company has even made a sticky toffee infused cheese!

David's son Daniel, 17, said: "While customers still love their traditional Cheshire Cheese, people are now willing to try something different."
