It's in the can

MANCHESTER-based Inky Fingers kick off their north west tour on Thursday at the Royal Exchange Studio with their black comedy, Ravioli.

When Terry and Strutter, a pair of witless fantasists, kidnap TV producer Valerie Parker in order to settle a debt, they think nothing could go wrong.

Nothing does, except for a freak snowstorm, a dead car battery, the impending arrival of Mr Fingers, and Derek, the most ruthless television licence enforcer to wield a biro.

Formed in 2005, Inky Fingers' first play Cabbages was the most attended show of that year's 24/7 Theatre Festival.

Directing Ravioli is Wyllie Longmore, who directed Basil And Beattie and Weeding Cane in the Exchange Studio and won the MEN Theatre Awards Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom at the Royal Exchange in 2006.

Ravioli is at the Royal Exchange Studio from Thursday until September 22.
