Buy art by Banksy, Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin at Buy Art Fair and The Manchester Contemporary 2010…

The Buy Art Fair will return on 28-31 October at Spinningfields, Manchester. This year the show will bring together over 60 galleries from around the UK, who will be showing the work of over 300 artists.

Well-respected galleries artrepublic and Eyestorm will both be bringing prints from all their favourite cutting edge artists, while Emin International is exhibiting at The Manchester Contemporary.

Lindsay Alkin, artrepublic gallery director, said: “We are really excited about doing the Buy Art Fair in Manchester for the first time. It’s a great opportunity to introduce many successful, cutting-edge artists from our London and Brighton galleries to art collectors and enthusiasts in Manchester.

“We will be showcasing a wide range of limited edition prints from artists including Banksy, Damien Hirst and Peter Blake, plus other immensely talented British artists such as Andrew McAttee, Eine, Dan Baldwin, Brad Faine, Screen Prince and Graham Carter. In addition, work by US prolific artist Obey and LA based Mr Brainwash will also feature.”

London-based Eyestorm, one of the UK's leading online galleries and publishers of signed limited editions, will be showcasing prints they’ve published with eminent artists including Peter Blake, Radiohead album artist Stanley Donwood and artist/comedian Vic Reeves.

In 2006, Eyestorm published a series of four limited edition prints with Stanley Donwood, who is best known for his collaboration with Radiohead, producing their album artwork since 1994. The prints - Teeth, Borealis, Realistic and Avert - were all based on the album artwork for Radiohead’s Kid A and will be available to purchase the Buy Art Fair. (Image of Teeth attached, price £450).

Eyestorm's creative director Angie Davey said: “At this year's Buy Art Fair Eyestorm will be showcasing a selection of high quality, signed works by both established and emerging artists at affordable prices.

“We've specifically chosen works that will be perfect for a first time buy, whether you have £100 to spend or are looking to invest in something more substantial.”

Want to learn more about buying art?

The Buy Art Fair includes a full programme of talks on Friday and Saturday giving you the chance to hear from a variety of professionals and collectors on what is best to buy. This year the founding members of The Collective (www.the-collective.info), an art buying group made up of seven households will be sharing their experiences of buying art. The Collective has been running successfully for over 10 years and offers a new approach to collecting art with members taking turns to buy new artwork, which are owned by the members collectively. The households meet several times a year to swap the artworks. They have gone on to support the development of a number of new art-buying groups across the UK. The full programme of talks is available at www.buyartfair.co.uk

The Manchester Contemporary, which will once again run alongside the Buy Art Fair, has been curated by The International 3 and will feature emerging and established internationally exhibiting artists from across the UK and beyond. Visit www.themanchestercontemporary.co.uk for the list of galleries and artists.

Emin International will also be joining The Manchester Contemporary selling brand new limited edition prints by the infamous Tracey Emin. This is the first time Tracey has sold art in this way since the early 90’s when she ran a shop on Bethnal Green Rd in London.

Tracey Emin said ‘This is brilliant. As soon as I heard about it I wanted to be involved. I think it’s great dynamic art is being spread throughout the UK.’

The Buy Art Fair and The Manchester Contemporary are sponsored by Bluefin Insurance Services in conjunction with AXA Art, and Jaguar Cars.
