Digest: Fine Food Northwest Awards 2010

Fancy a day sampling the best food our region has to offer? Fine Food Northwest Awards 2010 is looking for a Greater Manchester foodie to join its panel of judges – led by celebrity chef Nigel Haworth.

The contest recognises suppliers from across the region and judging is at Ewood Park, in Blackburn, on June 2. Food Northwest chief executive Pat Foreman says: “We want to involve ordinary people who have a real passion and enthusiasm for good food.” Anyone aged over 18 can apply until April 7 on a form at foodnwawards.co.uk.

One firm which would qualify to be judged in the awards is Riverford Organic, which delivers boxes of organic veg to south Manchester and Cheshire from its local base at Stockley Farm.
