We have launched our bid to find the best pub or bar in Manchester. We know there are some real gems across our patch, pubs that are true standard bearers and hubs of the community. And now we want your help to find the finest.

Your favourite pub could serve great beer or food or it may provide top entertainment or boast the most wonderful service for miles. Or does it offer a warm welcome and make a real difference to people’s lives?

Whatever the reason, we want to know which local is the best around.

Until April 11, you’ll be able to vote for your favourite pub in the areas covered by the Manchester Evening News and our 16 local weekly papers.

Manchester Evening News (covers Manchester city centre, Bolton, Bury and all other areas not covered by the newspapers below).

After April 11, the three top pubs in each category will be visited by our panel of mystery drinkers, who will decide the winner for each area based on a number of factors such as atmosphere, quality and range of products, cleanliness and appearance and the pub’s standing and reach in the community.

Then between April 26 and May 9, there will be a public text vote to decide the overall winner, who will be announced the following week and officially crowned CityLife Pub Of The Year 2010.
