Bank Top and Greenmill win national awards

Bank Top Brewery of Bolton and Greenmill Brewery of Rochdale have won national awards.

The Society of Independent Brewers gave its Champion Mild title to Bank Top's Dark Mild, while Greenmill's Big Chief Bitter took the Champion Strong Bitter award.

There were 1,400 different beers entered in this year's competition, with Saltaire Brewery in west Yorkshire taking the top award of Supreme Champion Beer with its Triple Chocoholic stout.
