Must see: Larkin’ About

When Come Out & Play Festival first turned New York into a giant playground of zombie tag and vigilante cycle path building back in 2006, the world looked on in total confusion.

‘Only in America!’ we all thought. But how wrong we were, because the phenomenon of pervasive gaming (as the activity is called) has now spread worldwide.

Manchester even boasts its own pervasive gaming ring – Larkin’ About, a collaboration between theatres, artists, gamers and the public which makes the most of Manchester’s streets by dreaming up games to play outdoors.

Launched at the end of last year, Larkin’ About takes over The Greenroom tomorrow from 6pm and will encourage the public to interact with art and artistic concepts in a new fun way.

Don’t be surprised to find yourself in Albert Square by 8pm engaged in something crazy. At the very least, it should make for an interesting Facebook update...

Green Room - February 27, 2010 - From 6pm, free.
