Mat Horne to DJ at South's Valentine's special

MANCHESTER nightclub South is celebrating its 15th birthday in some style – with an exclusive DJ set from Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne to kickstart proceedings.

And rather befitting of Mat's loved up character Gavin in the hit BBC comedy, he'll be overseeing proceedings on the club's Valentine's special, dubbed “South's Got The Love”.

And I reckon with Mat at the decks, South will be getting rather a lot of love from revellers at the event, on Saturday, February 13.

The South King Street club was created by former Hacienda promoter Paul Cons back in 1995 and has remained a Manchester rock 'n' roll institution all these years.

They are planning a series of events for the landmark birthday, starting with South's Got The Love.

And I hear bosses will be holding a unique contest to find the most rock 'n' roll couple who've ever met at South on the night, hosted by Inspiral Carpets legend Clint Boon on the night.

Anyone wishing to enter the contest needs to submit their story of how they found love at South or have a love connection with the club by emailing katesouthclub@googlemail.com. The best ones will get free admission on the night, and the winner a luxury hotel break in Manchester!
